Programme Manager, New Citizenship Project

Iris Schönherr has been part of innovation company, the New Citizenship Project, since 2014. The company generates and delivers creative projects which aim to promote the role of the Citizen inspiring participation in society.

She is Programme Manager for our Collaborative Innovation projects leading inquiries together with organisations to explore the Citizen Shifts’ implications across a variety of sectors, from membership to food to health to co-operatives. She is a specialist in participatory process design, coaching and facilitation.

She co-led the eight month inquiry into the future of co-operative membership with participant organisations Co-op Group, Lincolnshire Co-op, Phone Co-op and Nationwide of which the toolkit Everyday Participation is the outcome. It introduces Seven Modes of Everyday Participation that can be used to build a new relationship with people and offers a fertile ground for innovation between ‘economic participation’ (trading with co-ops) and ‘governance participation’.
